Three Cowards in Hiding

Do you know who Ismail Haniyeh is? If not, don’t worry, because I had to look up his name myself.
For our mutual enlightenment, Ismail Haniyeh is a Palestinian politician who is a senior political leader of Hamas and the current chairman of its political bureau. The reason why you and I haven’t heard his name before is because instead of putting his money where his mouth is by living in Gaza during the current war, he lives in luxury in Qatar.
Haniyeh led Hamas from 2006 to 2017, after which he was replaced by Yahya Sinwar. Two months later, he was named to his present post… and fled to safety and security in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Sinwar remained behind to plan and orchestrate the October 7th attacks on – and atrocities against – Israel. So, why hasn’t the Israeli Defense Force taken him out with a missile, a drone, or a special forces operation… especially since they know exactly where he is? Because, being a coward without a conscience, Sinwar has surrounded himself with Israeli hostages since the day of the attacks, using them as human shields against IDF retaliation.
All of which reminds me of President Joe Biden…
“Hiding Biden” ran a shadow campaign in 2020 from his basement bunker, citing Covid-19 as the reason. Now we know that he was simply trying to hide his all-too-apparent cognitive deficits. Sadly, enough voters were duped by Joe’s duplicity that he was elected – or installed, depending on your perspective – as America’s 46th President.
Since that farcical election, Geritol Joe has aged in “dog years.” As a result, his handlers have done their best to keep him under wraps and far from the public eye. To that point, President Biden has spent approximately 40% of his first term on vacation, usually at his mansion in Greenville, DE or his luxurious beach house in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Together, those two properties are valued at just under $5 million.
Of course, Sleepy Joe has also vacationed multiple times on Nantucket Island and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Gotta work on that tan, right? And you can’t beat those ice cream cones in Nantucket.
Now, with the 2024 presidential campaign well underway, Biden continues to dodge not only the media, but also his perspective opponents. He has refused to debate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Rep. Dean Phillips, or Marianne Williamson, causing RFK Jr. to launch an independent campaign.
My guess is that Joe will elude and evade, juke and jive his way to the Democratic nomination and then only agree to a single debate or two against the GOP nominee. Like 2020, I am sure that his strategists will work to regulate his internal clock so that his “sundown syndrome” isn’t as apparent. Massive B-12 injections or other drug cocktails are sure to help him appear semi-lucid, too.
To me, Joe Biden’s penchant for hiding is as cowardly and despicable as the tactics employed by Haniyeh and Sinwar… and that’s really saying something. Shame on all three men.
(For the record, I am also not a fan of President Trump's refusal to debate his GOP opponents this time around. Was it a smart political move? Probably so, time will tell. But it was cold, calculated, and too closely resembled Joe Biden's “duck and dodge” approach, of which Trump has been extremely critical.)
