The Next Chapter

Finishing fourth in a four-way race is humbling to say the least, so I don't see myself ever running for public office again. Not that my ego couldn't handle another loss, but rather because my two congressional campaigns in New Jersey (2008 and 2010) and my recent race for state representative in Florida have proven - at least to me - that I lack the ability to raise the kind of money that it takes to be elected these days.
And make no mistake about it, folks... money dominates (some would say RULES) politics, both locally and nationally.
However, that doesn't mean that I will no longer offer my insights about important issues in the future, especially social ones. In fact, now that I am no longer constrained by a political campaign, I am even more at liberty to share my viewpoints on everything from abortion to same-sex marriage and from police shootings to transgender bathrooms.
Of course, I wasn't exactly a wallflower when it came to expressing my opinions - solicited or otherwise - on these and other issues while I was running for office. So fasten your seat belts, folks, because this is going to be an interesting (and occasionally bumpy) ride!
You didn't lose, you came in fourth because you didn't play by the same rules as some of the others and you didn't have the same 'equipment' (money). You and Deanna will always be winners in mine and Marcia's estimation. We are excited to see what God will have you do in your current ministries (and maybe some future ones). Friday, October 28, 2016
