Putting Protesters on Notice, Pam Bondi-Style

It may be the most embarrassing – and pathetic – mugshot in modern American history.
A man in his late 20s or early 30s is shown weeping uncontrollably as he realizes that torching a Tesla charging station is not only illegal but also carries with it a potential 20-year prison sentence.
If only someone had told him earlier, he wouldn’t have left the safety and security of his parent’s basement.
Yes, folks, in the latest display of liberal lunacy, handfuls of protesters have decided to firebomb Tesla dealerships and charging stations across the fruited plain because it’s apparently the Progressive thing to do. Maybe they feel buyer’s remorse (or misplaced guilt) for trading in their aging Toyota Prius with its COEXIST bumper sticker for a high-performing Tesla 3, S, or Y. Or maybe they are mere political pawns being moved and manipulated by George Soros, AOC, or whomever is calling the shots behind the socialist curtain these days.
All they seem to know is that Donald Trump is bad and because Elon Musk is aligned with Donald Trump, then Elon Musk must be bad too. It’s the Orange Man meets the Bogey Man.
And so, the heck with climate change and carbon emissions, let’s set fire to as many EV charging stations as possible and send clouds of toxic smoke into the atmosphere. And while we’re at, let’s trade in our environmentally-friendly Tesla for a gas-guzzling SUV. That’ll show them!
Not only are the Tesla tantrum-throwers juvenile, but they are also incompetent. Just ask the guy in South Carolina who lobbed one too many Molotov cocktails, the last of which caught his own clothes on fire. It wasn’t too hard for the Feds to track him down and lock him up because he was the one with the 3rd degree burns on his back.
Daniel Clarke-Pounder, 24, had also scrawled “f–k Trump” and “long live the Ukraine” in the parking lot where the charging stations were located. So, I guess his pyrotechnic mishap was part anti-Trump and Musk protest and part pro-Ukraine rally. Now it makes sense, right?
His parents must be so proud.
Not to be outdone, 41-year-old Adam Matthew Lansky was arrested in Salem, Oregon for hurling eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership in January and then returning a month later to pepper the same dealership and at least one car with bullets fired from an AR-15.
Weren’t we told that liberals hate semi-automatic weapons?
Then there is Lucy Grace Nelson, 42, also known as Justin Thomas Nelson, who allegedly started a fire at a Tesla dealership in Loveland, Colorado with yet another Molotov cocktail. Justin’s biggest mistake was returning to the scene of the crime to vandalize the dealership using black spray paint, writing "Nazi" and other unspecified expletives on the front windows. Nelson was also dumb enough to be caught with “a container of gasoline, a box of bottles, and a wick” in his possession.
Thankfully, law enforcement agencies are unified in their response to these cases of domestic terrorism. "While we will defend the public's right to peaceful protest, we will not hesitate to act when protest crosses the line into violence and mayhem," said Acting US Attorney Brook Andrews for the District of South Carolina. "These kinds of attacks have no place in our community.
"The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended," said Attorney General Pam Bondi. "Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars."
Sounds to me like the First Amendment doesn’t cover committing a crime and that protesters had better start obeying the law like the rest of us.
On a similar note, Greenpeace, an environmental organization based in the Netherlands, was found guilty of defamation, trespass, nuisance, civil conspiracy and other acts by a nine-person jury and must pay more than $660 million in damages to Dallas-based Energy Transfer and subsidiary Dakota Access.
Greenpeace USA must pay the bulk of the damages, $404 million, while Greenpeace Fund Inc. and Greenpeace International must each pay roughly $131 million.
“While we are pleased that Greenpeace has been held accountable for their actions against us, this win is really for the people of Mandan and throughout North Dakota who had to live through the daily harassment and disruptions caused by the protesters who were funded and trained by Greenpeace,” the company said in a statement to The Associated Press.
In a statement, Energy Transfer attorney Trey Cox said, “This verdict clearly conveys that when this right to peacefully protest is abused in a lawless and exploitative manner, such actions will be held accountable.”
Cox said Greenpeace carried out a scheme to stop the pipeline’s construction by paying outsiders to come into the area and protest, providing blockade supplies, organizing and leading protester training, and making untrue statements about the project to stop it.
For its part, Greenpeace insisted that it will continue to fight the “Big Oil Bullies”, but also claimed that the record settlement may bankrupt their organization.
Oh well, I guess they should have thought things through before engaging in illegal behavior… just like the anti-Tesla terrorists.
The moral of the story is whether you are protesting Elon Musk and D.O.G.E. or an oil pipeline, you have to do it legally, lawfully, and peacefully… or be prepared to suffer the consequences.
