Planned Parenthood's Diabolical Shell Game
Monday, July 8, 2024
If you visit plannedparenthood.org and take a peek at their 2023 annual report, you will find the following information…
Planned Parenthood offered 2,250,913 “birth control information and services,” a total of 4,633,499 “STI testing and treatment services,” and 464,021 “cancer screenings and prevention services” to 2.05 million patients in 2022.
Those three treatment categories combine for 7,348,433 client services, but Planned Parenthood claims to have provided 9.13 million services that year. So, what type of “healthcare” was included in the other 781,567 cases?
According to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, Planned Parenthood performed 392,715 abortions during FY2021-2022, which represents a 5% increase over the previous year and a 20% increase over the past decade. During that same period, total client services were down 17%, prenatal services fell by 80%, and contraceptive services dropped by 39%.
Abortions account for 97.1% of all Planned Parenthood “pregnancy resolution services” while prenatal care, miscarriage care, and adoption referrals total just 2.9%. In fact, for every adoption referral that was offered, Planned Parenthood performed 228 abortions.
Who is paying for this wholesale infanticide? Well, since the Hyde Amendment has outlawed using federal funds to perform abortions since 1977, Planned Parenthood conducted a well-orchestrated shell game with the $2.1 billion it received in 2023, an alarming $699.3 million of which came from taxpayers’ increasingly thin pockets. Even more disturbing is the fact that government funding for Planned Parenthood has increased by 43% since 2010, despite the “nonprofit” reporting $2.5 billion in total assets and $204.7 million in net profits in 2023.
So, let me get this right? At a time when 60% of Americans say they are living paycheck to paycheck and an unexpected bill of just $400 would cause serious financial issues for their family, Uncle Sam is funneling our hard-earned tax dollars to a baby-killing conglomerate that is cash-flush?
Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood recently announced that it has allocated $40 million for phone banks, door-to-door canvassing, online and television advertising, and direct mail aimed at turning out voters in Arizona, Georgia, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. “Abortion will be the message of this election, and it will be how we energize voters,” said Jenny Lawson, executive director of Planned Parenthood Votes.
Not to be outdone, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Center for Reproductive Rights, and at least six other pro-abortion groups joined Planned Parenthood in launching a 10-year, $100 million campaign aimed at “securing access to abortion care in every state.”
Long story short, every service category that Planned Parenthood provides is down while abortions are up… and so are revenues. And yes, some of those taxpayer-supplied revenues are being used to promote pro-abortion candidates and legislation.
Somebody is being played for a fool, and I believe it is the American people. My friends, it is time to turn off the money valves that are flooding Planned Parenthood with our tax dollars.
