I Want My Money Back!

I have been working full-time for the past 42 years. That includes a six-month stint as a travel agent, 11 years as the recreation director at a retirement community, 24 years as founder and executive director of The Saints Prison Ministry (17 of which were full-time), and 13 years as founder and president of Risk Takers for Christ.

Over the course of those four decades, I estimate that I have earned around $2,000,000 (where did it all go?) and paid about $400,000 in state and federal income taxes. Mind you, these are all ballpark figures for the purpose of making a singular point…

And that singular point is that I am sick and tired of my tax dollars being wasted by Uncle Sam!

The latest example of my tax dollars going for naught is the pardon of Hunter Biden. For years, Hunter lived a decadent lifestyle full of drugs and prostitutes while trading on his father’s name to haul in millions of dollars from shady foreign business deals. His past finally caught up with him when the Department of Justice was pressured into launching a full-scale investigation into charges that Hunter lied on a gun application and failed to properly and promptly pay income taxes on his earnings.

From February through August 2024, Special Counsel David Weiss’ office spent a total of $3.4 million investigating Hunter, bringing him to trial, and securing a conviction. Weiss spent an additional $183,000 in 2023 while also using $132,000 of standing department resources. So, let’s round the total federal expenditures to $4 million.

That’s $4 million wasted taxpayers’ dollars now that President Joe Biden has preemptively pardoned his son before his scheduled sentencing on December 4th.

Meanwhile, Special Counsel Robert Hur spent $6.4 million investigating President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents only to decide not to press charges. Not because Geritol Joe wasn’t guilty, but because his obvious cognitive decline would make him a sympathetic figure to a jury.

More wasted taxpayers’ money… and yet another Biden escapes justice.

But that’s not all, not by a long shot. The DOJ alone spent more than $25 million on multiple investigations of former President Donald Trump… only to drop all charges now that he is President-elect. Of course, that doesn’t include the countless millions spent by District Attorney Alvin Bragg in New York City or by D.A. Fani Willis in Fulton County, Georgia.

All of this may seem like “chump change” to the DOJ and the rest of the bloated and largely unaccountable federal government, but is represents the blood, sweat, and tears of millions of hardworking Americans.

And I, for one, demand that my hard-earned tax dollars be used more wisely… or return them with interest!
