How to Guarantee a Republican Win (or Loss) in 2024
Wednesday, August 23, 2023
I desperately want the Republican Party’s candidate to win the presidency and reclaim the White House in 2024. And with a lousy economy marked by soaring food and gas prices and inflation outpacing wages; a southern border made out of Swiss cheese; weekly (sometimes daily) leaks further incriminating Joe Biden in Hunter’s nefarious foreign business deals; and a stumbling, mumbling, bumbling boob in the Oval Office; one would think that whomever the GOP nominates as its standard bearer in 2024 will be a shoo-in, right?
Right… unless Republicans do the following (in no particular order)…
1. Demonize Donald Trump.
2. Demonize anyone not named Donald Trump.
3. Refer to anyone besides Donald Trump as a RINO and/or a globalist.
4. Continue to call Mike Pence a traitor and a coward.
5. Ignore Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican.”
6. Ignore Reagan’s 80/20 Rule that states, “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally - not a 20 percent traitor.”
7. Stay home on Election Day if their preferred candidate isn’t the GOP nominee.
8. Fail to embrace and promote early voting including mail-in balloting.
9. Focus on the past – including stolen elections – instead of the future.
10. Come across as angry and mean-spirited.
If the GOP rallies around a solid (not perfect) conservative who offers an optimistic, unifying, and forward-thinking message, we will win in a landslide. However, if we double-down on what didn’t work in 2020, we will lose… and lose rather decisively.
The choice is ours, my friends.
