Divided Down the Middle

If you aren’t yet convinced that there are really two different Americas – one conservative and Godfearing, and one liberal and God-hating (or at least God-ignorant and God-ignoring) – than you have been living under a rock for the past 20 years or so. Watch CNN or MSNBC and you will get one perspective of what’s going on, and then switch over to FOX News and you will get the polar opposite.

Joe Biden famously said, both on the campaign trail and in his inaugural address, “There isn’t a blue states of America and a red states of America; there’s just the United States of America.” And then he went out and did his best to promote the blue states and punish the red ones.

Truth be told, our country is more divided today than at any point since the Civil War… and that’s really saying something for someone who lived through the Civil Rights movement, Watergate, and the anti-war protests during the Vietnam War.

Here are just a few examples of how polarized we are as a nation…

Following last week’s presidential debate, conservative viewers were up-in-arms over what they perceived to be the unfair treatment afforded President Trump. The moderators factchecked him five times while giving Vice President Harris a free pass. However, the liberal media saw it much differently, starting with Margaret Sullivan of the Guardian.

“Trump’s allies were outraged, naturally, that he wasn’t allowed to fib at will. How terribly unfair, they charged. Why weren’t there equal numbers of fact checks and challenges for Harris, they demanded, never stopping to acknowledge that she had mostly stuck to that crazy little thing called the truth.”

Ms. Sullivan went on to admit that Harris “strayed from reality or misled” a couple of times, but “there was really no comparison with Trump’s litany of lies.”

Meanwhile, Glenn Kessler, the official factchecker for the ultra-liberal Washington Post, said that the debate moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis from ABC News, were “a model for future debates.” Of course, what else would you expert from a pseudo journalist whose last seven articles have been either anti-Trump, anti-Vance, or both?

Speaking of ABC News, a nonpartisan study showed that since she became the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, coverage of Kamala Harris has been 100% positive. During the same time period, the network’s coverage of Donald Trump has been 93% negative.

Apparently, at least according to the mainstream media, President Trump is the Antichrist Incarnate whereas Vice President Harris is the second coming of the Messiah Himself.

The truth of the matter is that, despite President Biden’s lame and purposely deceptive sound bite, there is a Red States of America and a Blue States of America. The former is mostly comprised of the South and America’s Heartland whereas the latter is almost exclusively made up of the Northeast and the “Left Coast”.

And ne’er the two shall meet.

Can we come back together? Perhaps a better question is “should we?” I don’t know about you, but I have less in common with the Progressives who live in Seattle and San Francisco – and who populate the Democratic side of both houses of Congress – than I do with the man in the moon.

As recently as 1984, we had a president who won 49 of 50 states in his re-election bid. America desperately needs another Ronald Wilson Reagan before our only option is divorce court, where our country’s acreage and assets are evenly divided.
