Black Men Are Waking Up

What do these famous Americans have in common? Shaquille O’Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, and Karl Malone? How about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, LL Cool J, and Prince?
Yes, they are all men and yes, they are all black. They are also registered Republicans (or were when they were still alive).
“Wilt the Stilt” passed away in 1999, but he was a diehard Republican who befriended Richard Nixon and even accompanied him to Martin Luther King Jr.’s funeral. And speaking of the slain Civil Rights leader, his father Martin Luther “Daddy” King Sr. was also a proud Republican, as were other Civil Rights icons like James Farmer and James Meredith.
No, it wasn’t just historical figures like Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington who aligned themselves with the Party of Lincoln. It was sports legends such as Jackie Robinson and Jesse Owens who found a home in the Republican Party because it championed black causes at a time when the Democratic Party was trying to enforce Jim Crow laws.
So did NFL Hall of Famers Rosie Grier, Lynn Swann, and Thurman Thomas as well as actor James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader. How cool is that? Darth Vader was a Republican!
And so, my message to black men who are finally waking up to the fact that they have been used and abused by the Democrats for the past 60 years is this: It is HIP to be GOP.
Not just because Shaq, The Rock, and LL Cool J say it is (and who would want to mess with any of them?), but because black men and women fare better under Republican administrations. Don’t just take my word for it, consider the facts.
Under Donald Trump, black poverty and unemployment rates dropped to all-time lows. They fell marginally lower during the early days of the Biden administration but have since risen dramatically. For instance, black unemployment has hovered between 5.7% and 6.3% this year, a full percentage point higher than during Trump’s term. Meanwhile, the black poverty rate has risen from 14.3% to 15.4% over the past year.
And no one needs to tell black men what happens when they go grocery shopping. With inflation up a cumulative 15.1% under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, black men are finding it difficult if not impossible to support their families.
Simply put, inflation is outpacing wages for all Americans, but especially for black workers... and that is why they are fleeing Kamala Harris and flocking to Donald Trump in record numbers. If, as predicted, Trump garners 15% or more of the black vote and 25% or more of the votes of black men, it will be “game over” for Harris and the Dems.
