Barry and the Race Card

Desperate times call for desperate measures… and for Democrats and the floundering Harris-Walz campaign, that means playing the ever-reliable race card.

While campaigning for Vice President Harris last week, former President Barack Obama stepped in it big time, telling an audience in Pittsburgh that, despite Harris raising more than $1 billion, “we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running.”

Barry always was good at self-congratulating and making himself the center of attention at other people’s expense. But wait… there’s more.

The lack of energy being generated by the Harris campaign, Obama told the small group, “seems to be more pronounced with the brothers.” Ouch! There’s nothing worse than someone who owns mansions in Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard, Chicago’s Hyde Park, and Washington D.C.’s plush Kalorama community (where Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is a neighbor) acting like he’s from the hood.

And yet, America’s 44th President still wasn’t done digging himself a racial hole. “You’re thinking about sitting out or supporting somebody who has a history of denigrating you, because you think that’s a sign of strength, because that’s what being a man is? Putting women down?”

“That’s not acceptable,” Mr. Obama lectured black men everywhere before doubling down yet again.

“You’re coming up with all kinds of reasons and excuses, I’ve got a problem with that,” Obama said. “Because part of it makes me think – and I’m speaking to men directly – part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that.”

So, there you have it, black Americans. You are supposed to vote for every black candidate on the ballot regardless of their positions on the issues simply because of their skin color. Forget about Dr. King’s dream for his four little children, that they would “one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

If you are black, you must vote black with no exceptions, demands King Barack.

Yes, Barack Obama thinks you are that stupid, monolithic, and easily manipulated. But then again, so did Joe Biden in 2020 when he told listeners to Charlemagne the God’s “The Breakfast Club” radio program that “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

How absolutely insulting, demeaning, and pathetic! I guess that’s why Leo Terrell, a black civil rights attorney and talk radio host who is a recovering liberal, called President Obama “a dinosaur” last week for playing the race card in this year’s presidential election.

I can remember when then Sen. Obama was elected president in 2008. Even though I didn’t vote for him, 143 years after slavery was outlawed and 43 years after the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was enacted, it seemed like America had finally turned the corner on race relations. Until, that is, President Obama played the race card every time he was criticized or held accountable for a bad policy decision.

In hindsight, no president in my lifetime has done more to increase the racial tensions in our country. And now, he’s at it again, vainly trying to salvage the Harris campaign by making race not only an issue, but the issue for black Americans.

Leo Terrell is right. Barack Obama is a dinosaur, and his race-baiting politics of division are on the road to extinction once and for all.
